The total linear metres of cabinetry required is the biggest cost driver. More cabinetry means more materials, hardware, benchtop, and installation time.
Finish Quality
From affordable melamine through to lacquer and wood veneer - the finish tier directly affects cabinetry cost per linear metre.
Benchtop Material
Laminate is budget-friendly, engineered stone offers an excellent mid-range balance, while porcelain requires specialist fabrication and support planning.
Layout Complexity
Single-wall layouts use the least material. U-shaped kitchens and those with an island benchtop require more cabinetry, more benchtop, and more complex installation.
Appliances
Appliances are bought separately. The calculator shows an illustrative appliance allowance outside the kitchen estimate, so you can plan the wider project budget.
Renovation vs New Build
Removal of your old kitchen is excluded unless your quote includes it. Site access and preparation can affect the quote for both renovations and new builds.

METHODOLOGY
How the Estimate Works.
This is a budget planning model with static assumptions, not live supplier pricing or an analysis of past kitchen records. Your actual quote is priced from your measured design:
Size and finish assumptions
Size bands use assumed cabinet lengths and benchtop areas. Finish and layout choices adjust the illustrative budget; actual cabinetry is priced from the design.
Material choices
The model uses assumed benchtop allowances. Actual slab choice, edge details, cut-outs, support and fabrication are confirmed in a supplier quote.
Installation allowance
The model allows 25% of its assumed cabinetry cost for installation and delivery. This is a planning assumption, actual work and delivery are quoted for your site.
Separate purchases
Appliances are bought separately. Sink, tap, splashback, old-kitchen removal and other trades are excluded unless your written quote includes them.
