What Does a New Kitchen Cost in NZ?

What Determines a Kitchen's Cost
The total linear metres of cabinetry required is the biggest cost driver — more cabinetry means more materials, hardware, benchtop, and installation time. From there, finish quality (from affordable melamine through to premium lacquer, wood veneer, and Fenix materials), benchtop material, layout complexity, and appliance choice all move the number meaningfully.

Renovation vs New Build: Does It Change the Cost?
Slightly. Renovations typically include demolition and removal of existing cabinetry, while new builds start from a clean space, which can slightly alter the cost profile. The bigger cost differences within either scope come from size, finish tier, and material choice, not whether it's a renovation or a new build.
